Cara
Occupational Therapist
Cara is a collaborative and creative occupational therapist who is committed to delivering client-led, holistic care. She believes that clients and their families are the experts in their own lives, and she places this belief at the centre of her practice. Warm, approachable, and genuinely curious, Cara works alongside each individual to ensure they feel heard, understood, and empowered to engage in the activities that bring meaning and joy to their everyday lives.
Cara completed her Master of Occupational Therapy at Flinders University and began practising in 2026. During her training, she completed placements across childcare, rural community mental health, and acute hospital settings, supporting children aged 2–10 years, young adults, and older adults. Prior to commencing as an occupational therapist, Cara worked as an Allied Health Assistant with our team for almost two years, gaining hands-on experience supporting therapy sessions and developing a strong understanding of client-centred practice in action.
While she values her broad experience, Cara is particularly drawn to working with younger children, where her playful and imaginative approach naturally thrives. She is passionate about building strong foundations early in life, supporting children to develop the skills they need to grow into independent, confident, and resilient adults. Cara is also eager to further develop her expertise in supporting neurodivergent children, adolescents, and adults.
Outside of work, Cara enjoys staying active through gym sessions, hiking, and long walks along the beach with friends. She has a passion for nutrition and loves experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, and she is never far from a good coffee or matcha. Born in South Africa and raised across New Zealand and Australia, Cara brings a rich and diverse perspective to her work, which continues to shape her inclusive and thoughtful approach to occupational therapy.
